Scale formation from pulping and bleaching liquor is a dynamic phenomenon that can be caused by temperature shock, pH changes, intense shear force and a supersaturation concentration of scaling ions. Polyacrylate-based products act on threshold inhibition, chelation, stabilisation and the crystal habit modification of the scaling.
